He's...

David Shrigley

Following a long history of surreal cartooning
from artists like Edward Lear,

Roz Chast and Spike Milligan, David Shrigley has found
his own place and amusing style in the 21st century.

Shrigley is well known for his 'sparse images and accompanying text',
this is what attracts me to these visual adaptations of the perils of being a human being.
His visual faults are what make his work so appealing, his quirky way of displaying whats wrong with 'us' highlights the 'nonsensical aspects' of the human condition. This is achieved with a mixture of image and text, sometimes attempting to create order from chaos with endless lists and rules for him, us and his odd characters to follow often with amusing and unappealing consequences.

The image above is one of my favorates, openly joking about his own drawing style and the camilian like abilities of his drawings.
