GHOSTS OF SPAIN

GHOSTS OF SPAIN : Brief

O

The brief required me to make two spot illustrations and a front cover,
after reading a chapter from 'Ghosts of Spain'
by Giles Tremlett.
I originally latched onto the Carnival theme and
my ideas
progressed fr
om there.
Once again I am very happy with my colour pallet,
but i think i may like blue a little too much?!

The cover

O

I think this cover was quite successful as an image but as a
book cover I think it lacks in obvious communication.

There are a few things I would like to change,
his head, he looks like a cone-head!
and maybe using the space a little bit more would
have given the image a more 'book cover' look .

Spot Illustration 1

This image works the best in an illustrative sense,
as it does exactly what it says on the tin!
The use of the type (squeezeing in the Optophonetics)
works and
communicates really well.
Using this technieque within my image making
will work well with the minimum amount of
imagry i sometimes use.
