Agency

I don't really remember the first time i looked at this agencies site, but I have chosen a few illustrators/artists/designers that caught my eye whilst browsing.

:::

Ifan Bates

Ifan Bates works with digital collage incorporating found objects + imagery, textures, and photography within his work.
I do like his work but for me its the way he composes his backgrounds, using textures and items such as, random imagery, envelopes, boxes and shape, to divide the image or interact with the foreground image in some way.

Chris Coady

Chris Coady works in a variety of different media, paint, ink, pencil, and digitally. He is a trained artist and he has also developed great digital skills. It seems he can turn his hand to anything, i find this fascinating, and perfectly demonstrates how an illustrator can use very different techniques and also produce well executed and professional images with these varied methods.

Lizzie Collcut

Lizzie collcutt has a drawing technique similar to mine.
She uses collage in her work, and has been described as being ' quirky, fun and original'.

:::

Only established in 2000, and have over 25 years of experience between them as illustrators agents.
They work in advertising, books, children's books, corporate, magazines, newspapers and packaging.
nbillustration showcases a range of talent and in a variety of media and that's because nbillustration represents some of the 'finest' commercial illustrator from around the world.
The info page caught my eye, its set up in the style of a questionnaire, it was informative, funny and refreshing, it made a change.
The terms, copyright, licencing and all the other neccecary tit-bits are clearly posted on the site! yippee! I will post them soon.

:::

The site also offers 'Portfolio Surgery' where they..
  • go through your portfolio (by appointment)
  • give you a critique on your working strengths and weaknesses
  • tell you how to get more work
  • tell you how to improve your work and present it in the best light
  • show you areas in the industry that might offer you work
It costs £35 and they do student/ group sessions and there's a discount.
This is clever marketing and its helpful!
